I moved to Denver in the fall of 2009 and after seven years and another bachelors degree to add to my resume later (and most of a Master’s degree – that one’s still in progress) – here I am. Still somewhat clueless as to what I want to do with my life… but I think I’m beginning to figure it out! Slowly.
In 2005 I packed up my life and headed east to attend college in Massachusetts. I had been born & raised in California and was ready for a BIG change. I stayed in Mass for a year and then traveled the world with Semester at Sea. I returned back to Massachusetts after the most incredible four months at sea I could have ever imagined and decided to buckle down and get my degree in Psychology. I graduated college in 2008.
Immediately after college I headed for the coast where I lived in La Jolla, California for 15 months. After a nasty breakup with my boyfriend of 7 years I decided to take a chance and move…. again. Colorado quickly became my home as I realized just how perfect of a place this really is.
Today I work as a nurse in Denver in a busy downtown hospital. I live just outside of Boulder in a quaint little bubble of an area where I enjoy daily views of the Flatiron mountains & enjoy being next door to hundreds of trails. I’m constantly thinking of ways to keep my life adventurous & not fall into the mundane day to day rat race…. but also… I really just want to keep my head above water. Young adulthood is so odd – fun, crazy, challenging. I guess that in itself is an adventure.
Follow along as I try to sort through my crazy life. I can’t promise I’ll be super entertaining or that I won’t annoy you with my sometimes overly-opinionated rants, but I can promise to provide you with a glimpse into the life of a fiercely independent, thirty year old girl who is always dreaming about getting away (but attempting to lay down some roots, as well) and trying to make it on her own a thousand miles from her closest relative 🙂
