For breakfast I opted to make a smoothie. I am going to switch between juicing and making smoothies. This way, I will get the added benefit of the fiber and extra protein from getting the whole fruit/vegetable and not just the juice that’s extracted from it.
Today is going to be a random bunch of stuff because I didn’t have time to pre-make anything so I’m making them as I go. I do want to give my digestive system a rest like I mentioned yesterday, so juicing will primarily be the goal.
But for this morning:
1/2 yellow bell pepper
1 small pear
1 small lemon
1 small handful of berry mix including a couple black berries, raspberries and blue berries.
1/2 c pre-made carrot juice
All blended in the vita mix! I don’t own one but I am working with the boys today and they have one so I wanted to try it. It worked okay… Although I was expecting something miraculous after hearing all the vita mix hype 🙂 it was just ok. I think my kitchen aide blender could easy take it in a blending match… And it’s $250 less!
Taste Test: it was better than I thought. Kind of vegetabley tasting. But overall – decent for my first morning 🙂
